Bio
I grew up near Sacramento, California, and went to Bella Vista High School. At Bella Vista I wrestled, acted in plays, played tennis, and competed in Academic Decathlon and Science Olympiad. I began tutoring younger kids in math and science while still in high school.
From 2016-2018 I lived in Perú as a volunteer. I taught English and helped clean up after a major natural disaster hit the town where I lived. I worked to perfect my Spanish and relate to people with a much different background than mine.
Returning to the US, I studied physics and math in college and started teaching other college students in physics labs. I also studied Spanish, Portuguese, and a bit of Quechua, the indigenous language of Perú.
I earned my master's degree in particle physics in Utah, then moved to Oregon to continue working towards a Ph.D. In Oregon I've studied to become a better teacher, learned a bit of French, and fulfilled my dream of adopting a puppy. Now I'm taking a break from school to spend time with family and spend more time teaching.
